Creating original portraiture that captures the essence of a family is one of the joys of being a professional portrait photographer – especially when the family includes six children, one being a baby in arms and a two-year-old with a mind of his own and the energy to go with it!
This shot also includes a family member who unfortunately couldn’t be present for this image, but I had fortunately photographed prior to putting together this composite and seasonal cards complete with text as shown.

Anyone who loves their pets knows they are part of the family. Treasured moments can be captured and enjoyed again and again with wall portraits, books, prints, slideshows and screensavers.

I’m always honoured to capture special times in the history of any family. There’s no time like the present to book a portrait session. Within weeks of this session, Shanti passed but her memory and beauty lives on. These are but a few of the many images I took that captured a “day in the life of” this beautiful horse.

Revisiting summer memories can truly warm a cold winter day. It’s such an honour to not only capture and create images for my clients, but to design books to last lifetimes is a real joy.

Meet Julie, Peter and their gorgeous family. I photographed their wedding in 2009 and this past summer, I finally had the pleasure to see them again after their return visit to Victoria from Quebec with their two children.

While it may be cold outside, the warmth these photos bring resonates year-round!

With the great weather upon us, now is the time for a fabulous outdoor family portrait. Here is one example of a family portrait session I recently did at a nearby beach and in my studio. I love capturing special moments, relationships and telling stories with the photos I create.
It seems most people think of doing these kinds of sessions closer to Christmas when the weather just isn’t as conducive to shorts and t-shirts. So, if you are considering updating or having a family portrait, now is a great time!

Looking for the perfect gift to give at any time of the year? Family portraits are always appreciated by those receiving them. I had the pleasure of photographing Sue and Paul’s wedding almost 20 years ago, the arrival of their son Ray, and now a collection of keepsake photographs for them all to enjoy as Ray has since grown up and is planning to travel and attend university out of province in the near future. The passage of time is so quick that I’m always amazed at how fast young children become adults in front of my lens.
